Room 1227 in the Beckman Institute
for Advanced Science and Technology is designed to offer researchers a
state-of-the-art presentation facility for meetings which require high
resolution video projection, stereoscopic video display capabilities,
spatialized sound, network or ISDN-based videoconferencing and
multi-video-display presentations. Designed for up to fifty local
attendees
and a worldwide audience through videoconferencing, the Beckman
Multimedia Technology Room is perfect for those technology-intensive
meetings not requiring the spaciousness of the Beckman Auditorium but
which need advanced display or videoconferencing capabilities not
available in other Beckman conference rooms.

In addition to two Pioneer 50" plasma displays with native 1280x768
pixel resolution, the Beckman Multimedia Technology Room boasts a Sanyo
PLC9000 LCD projector and an Electrohome Marquis
8500 Ultra CRT
projector with P43 green phosphor, which, along with an array of
Stereographics emitters and shutter glasses provides excellent active
stereo video display for 3-D video presentations.
Long recognized as the most versatile and standards-compliant
videoconferencing system in the
world, the Polycom ViewStation 512MP
offers single and multiple ISDN connections for legacy phone-standards
based vtc and no-phoneline-charge IP-based H.323 compatible vtc.
Sharing PowerPoint presentations, transmitting hardcopy information with
an Elmo visual presenter or incorporating live video in your
presentation is all possible in the Beckman Multimedia Technology Room.

allows for the connection
of one or more laptops, the Beckman Multimedia
Technology Room is designed to be presenter-friendly. Whether you
are doing a PhD defense using videoconferencing or conducting a program
review with multiple presenters, the same technology support staff of
the Beckman Institute who maintain the most advanced research display
facilities in the world assists presenters in conducting world-class
conferences here and throughout the Institute.
